This is a composite image, both captured by me. One is of Skógafoss at sunset with the Nikon Z7II, and another is a most epic sunrise while driving along the West Fjords of Iceland with the DJI Global Mavic 3 Pro.

Honestly I was slightly hesitant to do the sky replacement. But then I thought about what I wanted to convey in this image.
And it led to reflect on my own experience.

Ever since I saw the first image of Skógafoss a while ago, I fell madly in love with this place. It really stirred something in me, it became a dream for me to one day visit this place and witness it with my own eyes. It really inspired me.

Now that this dream has come to past, this is exactly what I want to pass on. I want you to be inspired, to dream of one day visiting this place, and to one day make it out here to see it for yourself. In a way, this is my way of passing on this dream to you! (well, provided you’ve not already been there of course 😆)

Unfortunately, that day.. well, I wasn’t so lucky to get an epic sunset. The waterfall is impressive, but the rock formations around it are equally extraordinary! However, the plain sky just was not creating the impact that I wanted to create. And so, I decided to embrace this technique.

Standing at the foot of this giant waterfall, I was partially drenched in the making of this photo. Once again, trust me, gear is everything to enjoy a place like Iceland.

In all honesty, I am absolutely grateful for this dream come true! I hope it inspires you to reach for the skies. Dream on, Consciousness! 🙏🩵
