KALANDRA - Borders: A Tribute to Iceland
Shot exclusively in Iceland, this video pays homage to its majestic seascapes and landscapes in 4K, alongside the most epic track by Kalandra - Borders.
I filmed so many seascapes in Iceland that I wondered how I would share this; this project is my answer. As a teen, I used to have a passion for music video editing, but I did not have any actual footage - so I used mostly footage from action movies and anime to create videos! When I discovered landscape photography, I dreamed that one day I would shoot my own footage and make the most epic music videos, combining my passion for music and video editing.
Iceland, you have made my dream come true, a thousand times over. It had its fair share of difficulty, moody/extreme weather, wind storms out of nowhere, surviving on energy bars and fruit paste (as vegetarian food is rare in some places), sleepless nights driving & chasing the northern lights, sleeping in the car, car breakdown in the middle of nowhere with no battery, the cold, missing my flight... yes, so many stories to tell, a complete adventure. I am absolutely grateful for the time spent there.
Iceland is one of the Earth's most pristine and raw remaining locations, it reminds me of the untamed power of nature, and it sets things in perspective. The nature is so giving and unforgiving as well. Tread carefully, she says!
This was shot on the DJI MAVIC 3 Pro and some additional footage on the Nikon Z7II. To all my camera gear that recently met its demise in Norway, RIP - you will be missed. But at the same time, I am grateful as it gives me more time for post-processing and working on side ideas instead of planning new trips and shoots. I'll be back :D
